Hi! I'm Jen Kain. Writer and filmmaker that cares about stories that matter. Whether it's creating documentaries that show light in dark places or poetry that gives hope there's always something new and interesting going on.
Author Side of things these are all the genres so far I have written in: Poet, Memoirist, Christian Devotional, Speculative, Fantasy, Syfy, Thriller
So far, I have published a memoir poetry chapbook called Let's Breakup, which focuses on how to process grief through breaking up with objects, people, places, and emotions. This was written in 2015 when I lost 3 people in 4 months who were extremely close to me.
I have been in a few short story anthologies, where I flex my writing muscles and try my hand at horror or thriller. (This will lead me to write some future novels in the genre!)
Christian Chronic Illness Devotional for Women is another passion project that was released Feb 2026. In the Christian lit space, there's so little room for talking about chronic illness. This devotional helps add to the small pile of resources for women navigating God and Chronic Illness. I hope to write more memoir based christian living chronic illness stories like this in the future. Such as how to navigate God, Marriage, and Chronic Illness.
Forthcoming: 2026, a Speculative Dystopian Fantasy Named Desert Wasteland: I have been writing this for over a decade and only recently decided to release it through my production company's book publishing arm, Good Stuff Books. This project has taught me so much about writing, but it took almost a decade to complete. Long time coming, but excited to finally talk about it soon.
Forthcoming: Holy Ghosts and Hollywood Dreams, forthcoming Poetry Book 2026, Unnamed Syfy Romance (Co-writing with my husband) 2026, Unnamed Thriller 2027
Good Stuff Books: Reach out if you want to be a published author but don't want to do it alone. Send your pitch query, and maybe we can make a book happen together through the imprint.
On the filmmaker side of things: I run an online production company called Good Stuff Films. This company focuses on story-driven content. Whether it's helping your author self tell the stories you want on social or elsewhere that is something I'd love to work with you on. Or I work with small businesses, churches and other organizations on their brand story, drone videography, real estate dream marketing and everything in between. When I'm not doing commercial work I'm working documentaries that tell amazing stories and collaborating with others to do it.
When I'm not writing or trying to share joy in the world, I'm taking care of my two adorable fur children, Felix and Raven.

Enjoy the site and the Stories!
